Note: Even before it eruption on May 18, 1980, Mount St. Helens has been a major attraction in Skamania County. As the number of visitors increases, so do the SAR missions.

SAR: The Volcano Rescue Team (VRT) of the North Country EMS is the primary Mountain Rescue resource in the area.
